Apply Now: Toto Awards for Photography (India)

The TOTO Awards for Photography, which were inaugurated in 2008 in association with Tasveer, are now supported by the Arts and Photography Foundation. These awards have applauded photographers who have evoked mood, told stories, documented important histories or practices, and extended the medium to include texts, graphics and other interventions in the space of the image.

Prize Information

• Two winners will be decided by an independent panel of jurors to receive a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 each.

Eligibility Criteria

• Only Indian citizen resident in India are eligible to apply (Overseas Citizen of India cardholders are not eligible.)  Since the spirit of the award is to identify promising young photographers, you can apply if your birthday falls between 1 January 1995 and 1 January 2007.
• Applications submitted by galleries or agencies on behalf of the applicants will not be accepted. Photographers themselves need to apply.
• The entry should comprise still images, in either colour or black-and-white, or a mix of the two.  Moving images and video art will not be accepted.
• The images should be screen resolution – 72dpi and 1500 pixels on the long side – and each file should be less than 1MB.
• You may submit one or two different series, but each series must comprise a maximum of 16 images and a minimum of 8. Please do not send a random assortment of images.
• The photographs should be sent in jpg, jpeg or png format only.
• The photographs submitted must not carry your name or watermark.
