The Battersea Society’s Photographic Award Battersea Past, Present & Future is open to everyone and aims to explore images of Battersea’s rich heritage, vibrant present or possible future.
The exhibition has three categories
- Battersea Past;
- Battersea Present; and
- Battersea Future.
Prize Information
- Finalists’ entries will appear in an exhibition to be held at the Royal College of Art in Battersea on in October 2023. Twelve photographs may be selected for a Battersea Past, Present & Future Calendar.
- The winner within each category will receive a cash prize of £200, as well as a framed print of their picture. The overall winner will receive an additional £200 cash prize.
- Winners will be announced at an award ceremony in October 2023 at the Battersea Past, Present & Future Exhibition at the Royal College of Art in Battersea.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to UK residents only. Entrants under the age of 18 need the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian to enter. Entrants must not be professional photographers.
- Entrants can submit up to three photos in total as JPEGs uploaded to the competition website. Entries can only be submitted online via the Battersea Society website.
- All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party.
- The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/ guardians if children under 16 are featured.
- Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit to the Battersea Past, Present & Future Photographic Award. By entering the competition all entrants selected for exhibition grant the Battersea Society the right to use their photographs to promote the competition and also agree to take part in post-competition publicity.
- The Battersea Society reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
