The Network for Border Crossing Journalism (n-ost) is accepting applications for the Eastern Europe Research Prize to enable outstanding journalists to research and produce time-consuming and travel-intensive reports for German-language media.
The award supports (cross-border teams of) professional journalists and photographers who in their reporting go well beyond the clichés often dominating Western perspectives on Eastern Europe.
Prize Information
- Total of up to 7,000 euros in prize money is available.
Geographic Focus
- Research projects can be submitted in or about people from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary.
Eligibility Criteria
- The call for applications is aimed at qualified journalists, especially cross-border teams. Publish in German-language media.
- Teams of print and photojournalists can also apply.
