The Save the Children Journalism Award , organized by the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, aims to recognize the work of journalists, who carry out their work by publishing in the Latin American and Caribbean media and placing on the public agenda the interests, situations, problems, affectations and stories of children and adolescents in the region.
Save the Children is an international organization that works in more than 120 countries to promote and defend the rights of children. They work in Latin America and the Caribbean to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children and adolescents.
The regional priorities are migrant and displaced children and adolescents, a safe return to school, social protection and resilient families, and the effects of climate change on children.
The Save the Children Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean recognizes and promotes journalism that gives voice to children and adolescents in the region.

Categories
- Categories to be prized are:
- Printed Press
- A publication in newspapers in Latin America and the Caribbean will be awarded.
- Digital Media
- A publication in a news digital communication medium in Latin America and the Caribbean will be awarded.
- Radio Press
- A news item/radio report/podcast broadcast on a station or platform in Latin America and the Caribbean will be rewarded.
- Television Press
- A news or television report will be awarded.
- Printed Press
Prize Information
- Save the Children will give a prize per category equivalent to US$1,000.00 (one thousand US dollars) for each category awarded.
- Recognition during a virtual or face-to-face award ceremony, depending on the possibilities.
Who can participate?
- Journalists who publish news in Latin America and the Caribbean who are the authors of the publications with which they participate in this contest.
- Your publications must be related to Save the Children’s regional priorities and have been published in: print, radio, television or digital platforms (websites) of news media.
- Neither Save the Children collaborators nor journalists who publish in newsletters, magazines or institutional spaces may participate.
