Deadline: 29 February 2024
The Gabo Foundation announces entries for the Gabo Journalism Prize that will bring together an exceptional group of journalists from all over Latin America this year in the city of Bogotá.
The Gabo Award promotes quality references that cover the issues that affect the region, which are more important today than ever amid the onslaught of authoritarian governments and the rise of organized crime on the continent, and major global challenges such as climate change, the unscrupulous use of artificial intelligence and waves of disinformation.
“Journalism lives” is consolidated as the motto of this call, in reference to a profession that resists attempts to silence journalists and the frequent attacks on press freedom, which at the same time adapts to the constant transformation proposed by the digital platforms and the technological revolution, and who is creative and committed to the truth. The latter, understood as fidelity to the facts, an essential aspect in the nature of this profession that changes every day but requires maintaining its ethical principles.
