Women in Journalism is proud to support the brightest new ideas with a annual £4,000 prize sponsored by Wiggin LLP.
Applicants can be any age, working in either print or multimedia and the winner will also join the WiJ committee, and be an honorary Woman in Journalism Fellow.
The award is presented at the Press Gazette’s British Journalism Awards in December.
What are they looking for?
- Judges look for a flair for storytelling, as well as evidence of innovation or impact as well an identifiable voice and understanding for a specific subject.
Requirements
- You must be a women working in the UK journalism industry.
- Your project can be at any stage, but there must be examples of the work being done.
- If shortlisted you must be able to attend The British Journalism Awards on Thursday, 14th December where the winner will be announced.
- Towards the start of the 2024 applications they’ll ask you to pay it forward by writing about your year and what difference the prize Fwemoney has made. They’ll also ask you take part in a session to share your learning with Women in Journalism members.
