The FluxusMuseum is pleased to announce its Prize for Experimental Video Program open to a visual artist, dancer, performance artist, film maker, animator, writer, actor, musician or not.
They welcome all proposals which are in the experimental spirit of Fluxus, but not in any way bound by any particular understanding of Fluxus; proposals do not need to reference Fluxus directly in any way.
Funding Information
- Over the duration of this year’s prize, €45,000 will be given to participants, with a portion used to support the development of their projects initially and the remainder awarded as prizes at the exhibition’s end.
- 20-40 proposals will be selected from this initial application and those artists will be awarded €600 each to assist them in executing their proposal.
- The finished works will then be featured in their gallery space from June – September 2025 as well as on their online platforms.
- There are no submission fees.
Eligibility Criteria
- FluxusMuseum encourages applications across art forms, whether you’re a visual artist, dancer, performance artist, film maker, animator, writer, actor, musician or none of the above, they look forward to considering your proposals.
- They welcome all proposals which are in the experimental spirit of Fluxus, but not in any way bound by any particular understanding of Fluxus; proposals do not need to reference Fluxus directly in any way.
Application Requirements
- They seek at least two of the following to be submitted as part of your proposal:
- 1 video clip. This could be anything, from a sample of the proposed work, a treatment or even you explaining the idea to camera. Maximum 3 minutes.
- 1 PDF (with images/text etc). Maximum 3 pages.
- One website/social media link showing your work
- You do not need to include an artist statement/bio or CV in your PDF or application.
- The finished work you are proposing must:
- Be a single channel film able to be shown on a screen/monitor or a projector
- Be new, original work
- Be between 1-15 minutes in length; be experimental in the spirit of the Fluxus group; Be presented in a HD video screening format (minimum 1920x1080px, Prores, DNxHD), DCP. They can accept other digital formats subject to enquiry but they cannot screen non-digital films at this time.
- It is the filmmaker’s responsibility to obtain rights, clearances and permissions. The Fluxus Museum assumes no responsibility for violation of copyright law.
- All selected works will be displayed on a monitor or via a projector
- All audio will be played through headphones
- Due to the large number of works they are not able to accommodate the following:
- Audio playing through speakers (headphones only)
- Multi-screen installations
- Sculptures alongside video work.
