The IREE Journalism Awards are in their fifth edition and you are the guest of honor.
The Institute for the Reform of State-Business Relations (IREE) is an independent, nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting democratic and pluralistic debate. Its mission is to contribute to the improvement of interactions between the public and private sectors and to the institutional development of the country.
The 5th IREE Journalism Award reiterates IREE’s commitment to freedom of expression, information and dissemination of knowledge. It also expresses due recognition to those who dedicate their professional lives to these principles, which underpin a democratic society.
Categories
- The 5th IREE Journalism Awards will be awarded in three categories:
- IREE Journalism Awards
- Politics and IREE Journalism Awards
- IREE Journalism Awards – Economy and Business.
Award Information
- IREE Journalism Award category will be entitled to R$50,000.00, which will be given to the professional or team that submitted the entry.
- R$30,000.00 will be given to the journalist or team that submitted the winning work in the IREE Journalism Award – Politics category and another R$30,000.00 to the journalist or team that submitted the winning work in the IREE Journalism Award – Economics and Business category.
Eligibility Criteria
- Journalists are eligible for this award.
Judging Criteria
- The winners will be selected by a judging panel made up of widely recognized professionals.
- The secretary of the 5th IREE Journalism Award and the judging committee will be a professional journalist nominated by IREE.
- At its discretion, IREE may expand the judging panel or appoint more journalists to assist the judging panel in selecting the works.
- The decisions of the judging panel, especially with regard to the selection of winners, are final and cannot be questioned or appealed.
- The awards will be presented at a ceremony in SĂŁo Paulo at a place and time defined by IREE.
- Winners must attend the awards ceremony.
- The act of registering for the 5th IREE Journalism Award implies full acceptance of all the provisions expressed in these regulations.
Application Requirements
- It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the judging panel has full access to his/her work in the form in which it was published. Restrictions that prevent access to the work may result in disqualification.
- Submissions must include the publication link and the work files in the form in which they were published, whether in PDF, audio or video format. Submissions may be made via Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, as long as the links remain accessible for at least 15 days after the end of the submission period.
- An author may submit more than one work.
- If the submitted work is composed of a series of reports, it is up to the author to give it a name, indicate how many reports it comprises and indicate the beginning and end of the same series.
