The Ars Electronica, BMBWF and OeAD has jointly relaunched the renowned Media Literacy Award.
The MLA award ceremony takes place in the inspiring environment of the create your world festival, the future festival of the next generation of Ars Electronica. For over 40 years, Ars Electronica has been concerned with the interactions between art, technology and society.
As a competition for media education in the 21st century, the MLA aims to encourage the testing of new teaching methods and resources and the exploration of new content. They invite all teachers and students of all school types and levels to share their teaching projects and concepts within the framework of the MLA – because they shape schools together.
Objectives
- The prize recognizes particularly innovative and creative teaching projects in the field of media education and digital learning . These can be projects for individual classes as well as projects across classes and grades. The submitted projects should have the following objectives:
- Strengthening the media educational discourse in schools;
- Promoting the creative and critical use of media of all kinds;
- Focus on creative learning processes and collaborative work.
Funding Information
- The MLA Media Education Prize awards a main prize, two distinctions, a special prize for digital learning and four recognition prizes:
- 1x main prize for a workshop of your choice worth 2,000€
- 2x awards for a workshop of your choice each worth 1,000€
- 1x special prize for digital learning for a workshop of your choice worth 1,000€
- 4x recognitions
Eligibility Criteria
- Students are also explicitly asked to nominate particularly exciting teaching projects that have inspired them in the long term.
