Nominations are now open for the “Castelfiorentino Prize for the Arts: Photography 4_2024” entitled “Beyond and Elsewhere: Contemporary Photography in Search of Possible Futures for a Conscious Innovation of Vision”.
The “Castelfiorentino for the Arts Award: Photography 4_2024” entitled “Beyond and Elsewhere: Contemporary Photography in Search of Possible Futures for a Conscious Innovation of Vision”. has two sections: Open, for individuals over 18 years old, and Student, reserved for photography students from universities, academies, and schools.
Objectives
- Map the work of talented contemporary photographers;
- Encourage a focus on students in photography schools/academies/universities;
- Promote Castelfiorentino as a place of cultural interest;
- Promote the Fondo Fotografico David Bastianoni which preserves an important part of the municipality’s history.

- Sole Award for best photographic project in the Open section
- 1st Prize Є3,000 (three thousand/00)
- Sole Award for best photographic project in the Student section
- 1st Prize Є500 (five hundred/00)
Eligibility Criteria
- The following are allowed to submit work for the award:
- Individuals over 18 years old;
- For the Student category, individuals must be enrolled in a school, academy, or university during the 2023-2024 academic year;
- Photographers can submit photographic projects either individually or as a group;
- The theme of the contest is free.
- Submitted projects must not have received any awards prior to the date of submission.
Application Requirements
- File Format and Technical Specifications:
- Projects must be submitted in PDF format (see example) and include:
- Title of the project, descriptive text, images, CV;
- The file must be named: NameLastName_yearofbirth or CollectiveName_yearofbirth (ex. MarioRossi_1995);
- The artists guarantee the rights to publish the images for non-commercial uses in communications/promotional material related to the Raccont’Arti Award and its future editions;
- The file must not exceed 25 megabytes, PDF file < 25 mb.
- Participants will:
- Guarantee that the submitted project has never received any awards prior to the submission date;
- Guarantee authorship of the work,
- Guarantee their authority to cede the rights to the work and ensure that exhibition of the work will in no way violate the rights of a third party;
- If selected, provide high resolution images for projection;
- If selected, provide high resolution images for exhibition and publication in the catalog;
- If selected, provide, within the time frame established by the organisation, a selection of images accompanied by descriptions, copyright, and potential courtesies, with permission to be published in print, on the website, and in all communications/promotional materials for the Raccont’Arti Award and its future editions.
- The jury is made up of 5 members: gallerists, curators, professors, and professional photographers.
