On the occasion of the 2024 edition of the Photolux Festival the International Biennial of Photography, Photolux and intarget are promoting an international open call aimed at photographers and photographic collectives, both professionals and non-professionals, of any gender and nationality.
Prize Information
- The winner will have an exhibition produced which will be included in the official program and catalog of Photolux Festival 2024 and also the possibility of receiving an award from Intarget. As regards the AI ​​section, the finalists will be produced the images that will be part of the exhibition which will be included in the official program and, for the winner, the inclusion of the images in the Photolux Festival 2024 catalog and the possibility of collaborating with Intarget for a project regarding AI.
Competition Sections                                Â
- There are two competition sections and themes to be interpreted with original and unpublished works.
- Telling about Italy
- It is the section intended for the exploration of lights and shadows of the “Bel Paese”. The narrative can range from architecture to landscape, from cultural traditions to craftsmanship, investigating excellence as well as critical issues. Projects created with archive material or photographs taken with a drone are permitted.
- Technical Data:Â Participants must send the following material:
- short biography in Italian and English complete with educational background and career, specifying personal data and contact details (max 1000 characters);
- title and statement of the project in Italian and English (max 2000 characters);
- 15 images in .jpeg format, 1500 pixels long side at 72 dpi. Each image presented must correspond to a high resolution file (300 dpi), 30 cm long side, which will be requested if the work is selected.
- By participating in the competition, the photographers declare that they hold the copyright of the images sent and have authorization for publication by any subjects portrayed.
- AI (Artificial Intelligence)
- Focuses attention on the possible outcomes arising from the combination of technological innovation and human creativity. Projects must feature images created using AI.
- Technical Data:Â Participants must send the following material:
- short biography in Italian and English complete with educational background and career, specifying personal data and contact details (max 1000 characters);
- from 1 to 4 images in .jpeg format, 1500 pixels long side at 72dpi. Each image presented must correspond to a high resolution file (300 dpi), 30 cm long side, which will be requested if the work is selected;
- Possible title and explanation of the workflow used to create the image.
