The Austrian Cultural Forum London invites emerging photographers based in Austria and the UK to participate in a prize in tribute of the late Austrian émigré photographer Wolf Suschitzky.
This prize celebrates and reflects Wolf Suschitzky’s strong connection to both the land of birth and his chosen home.
The jury will select two winners. The Austrian winner will be offered a 10-day residency in London and the UK winner will receive a residency in Vienna/Salzburg supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport and FOTOHOF Salzburg.
Theme
- For their fourth edition of the prize the ACF London invites submissions by emerging photographers on the theme of “All the world’s a stage”.
Prize Information
- There are two prizes available:
- An Austria-based winner will receive a 10-day ACF London residency + €500 cash prize.
- A UK based winner will receive a 10-day Vienna/Salzburg residency + €500 cash prize Both residencies will be offered in 2025. The winners will be invited to show their work at the ACF London in an exhibition in Autumn 2025 and FOTOHOF Salzburg in 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- 8 Shortlisted artists will be invited to participate in exhibitions in London and Salzburg. There will be limited production costs available to each shortlisted photographer.
Guidelines
- All entries should meet the following guidelines:
- Submit 3-5 images which relate to the theme of “All the world’s a stage”.
- Each image should be no more than 1MB large and 300dpi.
- Specify title, technique & print dimensions for each image.
- Include a CV or short biography.
- Include a website or online portfolio link.
- A short (500 word max) written statement on the images and how they relate to the theme.
- Applications over 4MB should be sent via they Transfer.
- They cannot display artworks in excess of 80 x 120cm (including frames) so any submission should take these sizings into account.
