The Instituto Não Aceito Corrupção is seeking submissions for the Non-Accepted Corruption Award to encourage academic research, journalism and business actions connecting purposes, ideas and actions against corrupt practices in Brazil.
The Prize is dedicated to raising awareness, mobilizing and disseminating concepts and practical solutions to face challenges that profoundly harm Brazil, undermine democracy and affect the economy.
This is a call for a collective commitment: students, researchers, entrepreneurs, journalists, public and private managers, universities, Law and Technology professionals are invited, from now on, to show their innovative ideas and effective practices to help the country prevent and combat corruption.
Categories
- Academic
- Academic projects, case studies, research and papers produced by undergraduate and postgraduate students, on concepts and practical solutions related to combating corruption.
- Technology and Innovation
- Prototypes of technological solutions, also produced by undergraduate and postgraduate students – including finalized executable versions, demos, prototypes of mobile applications or web platforms that contribute to raising awareness, mobilization and dissemination of concepts related to combating corruption.
- Corporate Governance
- Good practices in the public and private sectors, with special emphasis on corporate governance that promotes social inclusion.
- Investigative Journalism
- Reports produced and published in press vehicles in Brazil (printed or online written media, audio, video or photography), which uncover cases of corruption in the country at the municipal, state or national level.
- Local Communication
- Content produced by communicators and vehicles with local and regional circulation, which uncover cases of corruption at a local/regional level.
- Professional Experience
- Category dedicated to legal professionals, universities, public and private managers and entrepreneurs, with innovative ideas for preventing and combating corruption based on professional experience in different fields of the job market.
Prize Information
- It will be up to the Awards Panel to indicate the best projects, as well as the respective winners of each category.
- The Panel will also choose a Grand Prize, awarded to a single work, chosen from among the 6 winners, from the 6 respective categories
- First place winners in the 4th Non-Accepted Corruption Awards 2023 will receive a trophy and certificate proving their success.
- Second and third placed will receive certificates.
- Honorable Mention in Sports and International Honorable Mention, awarded to a work produced in a foreign Portuguese-speaking country, will also receive a certificate .
- Media Display
- Works that are interested in eventually being broadcast, during a specified period, by INAC media partners, can select the alternative on the registration form. The INAC team will contact the finalist content that shows interest in broadcasting, to share more information.
- Other Rewards
- More rewards may be offered by INAC partners.
- The Award also provides for the implementation of a as specific Mentoring for the winning projects, supporting their creators in the development and visibility of the prototypes presented.
Criteria
- Participants and objects of evaluation
- Academy
- Students over the age of 18, regularly enrolled during the 2023 academic year or graduated in 2022 from undergraduate or postgraduate courses at Portuguese-speaking (Portuguese-speaking) higher education institutions, may participate, individually or in teams.
- In the case of team registrations, members can be from different courses, educational institutions or course level (undergraduate or postgraduate). Furthermore, all members must comply with the requirements of these Regulations.
- Technology and Innovation
- Finalized executable versions, demonstrations (demos) or prototypes of technological solutions, including mobile applications or web platforms, that contribute to raising awareness, mobilization and dissemination of concepts and practices related to corruption and its fight may compete.
- Only works presented in Portuguese, produced by undergraduate and postgraduate students from Portuguese-speaking (Portuguese-speaking) higher education institutions, will be considered. The degree of maturity and viability of the registered prototype will be one of the issues considered and evaluated by the Judging Committee.
- Corporate Governance
- This category is intended to reward good practices in the public and private sectors, with special emphasis on corporate governance that promotes social inclusion. Legal entities under public or private law, based in Brazil for at least 2 years (considering the registration deadline), who present descriptive case studies of good corporate governance practices and practical solutions related to transparency, integrity, compliance may compete. and ESG to combat corruption in general.
- To participate, the legal entity must be represented by an individual, over 18 years of age, who is proven to be an employee or partner of the company. The representative cannot be a third party or intern.
- Case Studies that describe good corporate governance practices exclusively in Portuguese, containing between 5 and 20 pages, relating to actions carried out between May 10, 2022 and October 31, 2023, may compete.
- Professional Experience
- Individual or team registrations will be accepted. Professionals trained in public and private higher education institutions in Brazil may compete. For this category, ideas or projects developed by undergraduate students, or by professionals with an incomplete degree, will not be considered – even if linked to public and private companies.
- Investigative Journalism
- This category is intended to reward professional journalists who produce investigative content related to corruption. Professional journalists may participate in this category, individually or in teams, as long as they are linked – as employees (CLT) or with a legal entity contract (PJ) to communication companies based in Brazil, formally constituted (CNPJ) for at least 2 years, considering the registration deadline.
- Local Communication
- This category is intended to reward journalists, communicators in general and local and regional vehicles, who uncover cases of corruption in municipalities and states. Journalists and professional communicators can participate in this category, individually or in teams.
- In the case of team registrations, the members must be co-authors of the report, having clearly signed it.
