The programme is funded by the Auswärtiges Amt (Foreign Office of the German Federal Government), by the foreign ministries of the Nordic countries and by a small circle of private sponsors.
Programme Information
- The scholarship programme starts with a four-day introduction conference in one of the Nordic capitals or Berlin. Subsequently, the participating journalists will begin their stay at their respective host organizations.
- The programme concludes with a final meeting. The participants are asked to deliver a three-page report of their experiences. It should also include all contributions produced during their stay.
Funding Information
- Each fellow will receive a stipend of 3.800 Euro to cover a part of travel expenses, accommodation and personal expenses during their stay in Germany.
Geographic Focus
- Aimed at Journalists from Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania)
Eligibility Criteria
- The application is open to any journalist from the Nordic countries between the ages 18 and 45, working for any print, radio or TV media (employed or freelancer).
- Fluency in German is not expected or a prerequisite for successful application.
- At least workable knowledge of English is essential.
