Deadline: 15 September 2023
The Yemen Listening Project is a new form of journalism from The New Humanitarian. It invites Yemenis and people impacted by the war in Yemen to tell their stories.
The Yemen Listing Project wants to hear what Yemenis have to say and, publish your stories, to share them with the world. In order to do this, they would like to hear your answer to this one question: How has the war in Yemen impacted your life?
While they are asking about the war, your answer doesn’t have to be sad. You can tell a love story. A story of losing a home, or finding a new one. It’s your story, so it’s up to you what you choose to tell, and how you tell it.
An edited version of as many stories as possible will be published on The New Humanitarian’s website in English and Arabic, and may be republished by the media partners. Some of the stories will be recorded and used as part of a short podcast. While they will endeavour to publish as many stories as possible, please keep in mind that they may not be able to use every submission. Submissions will be edited for length and clarity.
