Applications are now open for the Baltic Shorts Residency Program, a three-week intensive short film script development residency program dedicated to the filmmakers from the Baltic countries who are willing to dive deep into the writing process along with the professional consultations.
Its purpose is to give selected scriptwriters or directors the opportunity to develop a new short film script with the help of scriptwriting consultant Anna Ciennik while staying at the remote Lithuanian town Kintai.
At the beginning of the residency, 3 selected participants will have an intensive script development group workshop and individual consultations with Anna Ciennik on site in Kintai, followed by 2–3 weekly individual online sessions and group session at the end of the programme.
Eligibility Criteria
- Film directors and/or scriptwriters who are citizens of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania or have a right of a permanent residence in these mentioned countries.
- Applicants must have finished at least one short film project (as a script writer or a director) and must be developing a new project which is:
- fiction, animation, hybrid
- stand alone short film (not TV series)
- in the early script development stage (production is estimated not earlier than in 2024)
- up to 30 minutes
- aimed at international audience
- One applicant can submit more than one short film project. Projects that were submitted to the previous edition of Baltic Shorts Residency are not eligible.
- In the cases of co-production, the applicant must meet this regulation.
