The French Embassy and the French Institute in Egypt have launched the BassemSabry Program to address young Egyptian journalists and analysts who want to get to know on France and the major debates in French society.
The BassemSabry program offers the winner, who is selected, the opportunity to visit France for a week during which he can:
- Establish deep links and exchanges of views with professionals in the French media field from a training perspective and within the framework of developing a network of professional relations in France and exchanging experiences related to good professional practices.
- Choosing the winner of a topic and addressing it in depth through conducting a field investigation or producing a press report.
Term of Progress
- The applicant must be of Egyptian nationality;
- For men, obtaining permission to travel from his conscription office;
- The age is less than 35 years;
- The applicant must have published no less than two articles;
- It is not required that the applicant be a French or English speaker.
Candidacy File
Each applicant must submit:
- One or two published articles (Word or Acrobat Reader version) translated into English or French; with details of the publication
- AÂ CV in English or French;
- For the purpose of conducting an investigation or a press report: presenting a detailed project of what the applicant intends to do during his visit to France (the subject of the investigation? The angle of contact? The people you want to meet with? Giving details as much as possible, the places of the visit? What is the expected professional return? Future projects after the visit?
Selection Criteria
- After closing the candidacy door, a preliminary selection will be made according to the files received, and the applicants who are initially selected will be contacted for an interview during the week 17-21 September. The visit to France will take place during November 2023.
Commitment
- The winner is obligated to write an analytical report, in the month following the end of the program, on his visit to France, especially on the extent of his professional benefit from the visit and its benefit to his career. It is also hoped that the winner will publish a press report on the subject he investigated during his visit to France.
