Call for Entries: Gandhara Independent Film Festival 2024

GIFF came into existence with its first virtual edition in 2020, with an aim to let a larger audience experience a diverse range of films through a hybrid medium. A platform that has been providing filmmakers a chance to reach out to a global audience for the last 4 years consecutively.

This year’s edition is just around the corner and they are all ready to take a step further ahead in bringing out the best of short films for the world to experience. So, it’s time to buckle up and let them take you on a ride full of emotions, drama, art, comedy, and much more this October 2024.

Award Information

• Gandhara independent Film Festival 2024 will be accepting submissions from around the globe for its non-competitive section and submissions from Pakistan for its competitive section. Films that succeed to stand out among other official selections in the non-competitive section will receive certificates from GIFF. Whereas outstanding films from official selections in the competitive section will be awarded based on the categories mentioned:
  • Awards (Only for Pakistan)
    • Best Film Award
    • Best Director Award
    • Best Cinematography Award
    • Best Screenplay Award
    • Best Editing Award
    • Best Sound Design Award
    • Best Trailer Award
    • Audience Choice Award
    • Special Mention Award

Eligibility Criteria

• The festival theme is open in the category narrative shorts and narrative features.
• The duration of the narrative short (up to 45 min) and narrative features 150 min including credits with English subtitles.
• The participating films of the festival will be selected by the festival programmers. All selections will be posted on the website & social media pages.
• GIFF 2024 is open to welcome media partners, collaborations and sponsors who share the same values of promoting independent cinema in Pakistan.
