The Fribourg International Film Festival is currently accepting applications for its International Competition for Feature and Short Films.
Aim
- The FIFF aims to contribute to the cinematographic and cultural diversity in Switzerland and in Europe. The Festival is open to all horizons.
Award Information
- The Festival gives the following awards for the International Competition: Feature Films:
- Grand Prix endowed with CHF 30’000.
- Special Jury prize endowed with CHF 10’000.
- Audience Award endowed with CHF 5’000.
- Ecumenical Jury prize endowed with CHF 5’000.
- Youth Jury prize endowed with CHF 5’000.
- Critics’ Choice Award endowed with a diploma.
- The Festival gives the following awards for the International Competition: Short Films:
- Best International Short Film endowed with CHF 7’500
- CH Cinema Network Award endowed with CHF 3’000
Eligible CountriesÂ
- Short Films the Festival:
- Films made by filmmakers from countries of Africa, Asia, Oceania, Latin America, Near and Middle East and Eastern Europe
- Feature Films the Festival:
- Films made by filmmakers from countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America, Near and Middle East and Eastern Europe (outside of the EU)
Eligibility Criteria
- In its International Competition: Short Films the Festival welcomes:
- Fiction, documentary or animation films
- Short films (< 30 minutes) for the International Competition: Short Films (Official Selection)
- Films with a copyright of the year preceding the date of the Festival (exceptions allowed)
- Films that have not been released in Switzerland (for the Competition, priority will be given to World or European premieres)
- We put a high priority on DCP and ProRes files. Exception will be considered on a case by case basis
- In its International Competition: Feature Films the Festival welcomes:
- Fiction, documentary or animation films
- Feature films (> 60 minutes) for the International Competition: Feature Films (Official Selection)
- Films with a copyright of the year preceding the date of the Festival (exceptions allowed)
- Films that have not been released in Switzerland (for the Competition, priority will be given to World or European premieres)
- It put a high priority on DCP and Pro Res files. Exception will be considered on a case by case basis.
