StopTrik is inviting submissions for the StopTrik International Film Festival, an international celebration of stop motion and experimental animation art.
The 13th edition of the Festival is coming in autumn to Maribor, Slovenia and in winter to Lodz, Poland. They hope they have a chance to present your film in the International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation, International Competition Programme: Borderlands or Panorama (non-competitive) section. They are continuing also with the International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation for Children, where young audiences will be enjoying your films and deciding about the verdict.
The organizer of the 14th StopTrik International Film Festival (STOPTRIK IFF) in Slovenia is Pekarna Magdalenske mreže. International competitions (“International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation” and “International Competition Programme: Borderlands”, “International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation for Children”) and screening of “Panorama” selection within the 14th STOPTRIK IFF will be held on September 25th – September 29th 2024 in Maribor (Slovenia). Pekarna Magdalenske mreže is the main organizer of the Festival and the complete Festival programming is executed in Maribor, Slovenia.
The organizer of the 14th StopTrik International Film Festival (STOPTRIK IFF) in Poland is Stowarzyszenie Filmowe FilmETER. International competitions (“Stop Motion Animation”, “Borderlands”, and “Stop Motion for Children”) and screening of “Panorama” selection within the 14th STOPTRIK IFF will be held on December 5th – 8th 2024. FilmETER collaborates with Pekarna Magdalenske mreže and the status of the event held in Łódź, Poland is considered replica of the main event in Maribor.

Eligibility Criteria
- General:
- The “Film” is understood as an artistic work, made with the means of animation filmmaking, eligible for the public screenings as stipulated further in this document, submitted for the consideration of the “Selectors” who are film professionals commissioned by the Festival’s organizers to choose film programme, accepted to the festival programme, promoted in the Festival’s communication printed, online, and in other mass-media, presented at the Festival screenings in Slovenia and Poland free of license fee charge.
- The “Festival” is understood as formally organized 14th edition of StopTrik International Film Festival in Slovenia and Poland (also: “StopTrik IFF”) on specified dates and at the venues communicated to the Submitters. The Film is presented once in the dedicated competition / panorama programme. Under the condition the Film wins an award or a mention, the Film might be screened once more during the closing night of the Fesitval. The Festival’s rightful organizer is Pekarna Magdalenske mreže.
- “Submitter” is understood as an individual person or a legal person in possession of legal rights for a festival distribution of the Film in Slovenia and Poland. Liability for legal rights to send the Film to the Festival is on the side of the Submitter.
- “International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation” accepts international films made only in the techniques of stop motion animation, realized after January 1st, 2022, no longer than 30 minutes. Selection is conducted by the Programme Director. The competition includes up to three programmes, each concluded with audience voting.
- “International Competition Programme: Borderlands” accepts international films that combine stop motion animation with other techniques, realized after January 1st 2022, no longer than 30 minutes. Selection is conducted by the Programme Director. The competition includes up to one programme which is concluded with audience voting.
- “International Competition Programme: Stop Motion Animation for Children” accepts international films made only in the techniques of stop motion animation, realized after January 1st, 2022, no longer than 30 minutes. Inclusion of the Film in a particular age group category is decided by the Selectors. The competition includes up to three programmes, each concluded with the audience voting.
- Films submitted to the competitions “Stop Motion” and “Borderlands” are considered to be included in the “Panorama” (selection conducted by the Programme Director). The Submitter has a right not to allow the screening in the “Panorama” programme. “Panorama” is not a competitive screening.
- Specific:
- Films can be submitted by producers, distributors, film institutions, individual artists or other entities legally entitled to do that. By completing submission, the submitters confirm they are legally entitled to conduct festival distribution of the Film.
