Sahafi Summit 2024 is now accepting proposals for breakout sessions that will explore the pressing issues and opportunities within Pakistan’s media landscape. The Summit, scheduled for November 21-23, 2024, in Lahore, is the premier platform where journalists, editors, media educators, and students come together to discuss and address the challenges and future of journalism.
Focus Areas
- They invite you to submit your ideas for interactive and engaging sessions that resonate with this theme and explore following key areas:
- Media and Digital Freedoms: Understanding the vital role that freedoms play in safeguarding a free press and ensuring access to information.
- Erosion of the Information Ecosystem: Examining the impact of disinformation and hate speech on public trust and the credibility of journalism.
- Traditional and Digital Media Economy: Exploring how digital platforms affect media sustainability and potential new revenue models.
Theme
- This year’s theme is “Youth Leadership for a Resilient Media Ecosystem”, with a focus on empowering young journalists and media practitioners to drive positive change.

- They’re particularly interested in sessions that are:
- Interactive and Engaging: They encourage workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities that allow participants to actively engage with the content.

Eligibility Criteria
- They welcome proposals from journalists, media professionals, educators, students, researchers, and anyone involved in or passionate about the media industry. Whether you’re an experienced professional or a rising voice in the field, your perspective is valuable.
- They also welcome session proposals that explore other relevant topics in the media landscape that may not fall within the listed sub-themes. If you have a unique or emerging issue you believe is critical to the future of journalism in Pakistan, they’d love to hear about it!
Application Requirements
- Your submission should include:
- Title and description of the proposed session (up to 500 words).
- Objective of the session.
- Session format – workshop, panel, discussion, etc.
- Target audience – journalists, students, media educators, etc.
- Names and bios of speakers/facilitators (if applicable).
- Any technical requirements for your session.
