Deadline: 31 August 2023
Data Critica is seeking proposals from journalists and independent media to tell stories about issues of gender and sexual diversity with an intersectional perspective.
The objective is that these narratives can be strengthened and dimension the problem and the solutions in a new way thanks to the analysis and visualization of data.
They are interested in hearing from the very voices of those who are dismantling and resisting processes of violence and abuse of power. They look for the perspective and the contributions that women, people of gender-sex diversity, indigenous peoples and other groups that have been subjected to forms of domination and that seek to free themselves from them are making.
The purpose of this fund is to remunerate the work of its participants and to cover research expenses, as well as for graphic materials that accompany the stories. Each team decides the distribution of their funds.
From the Data Critica team they will review all the applications received. They will give priority to projects that innovatively address problems little analyzed in the media. They will also consider that the stories propose solutions that promote the organization of their communities and that there is a work of pre-reporting and detection of information sources. They will prioritize applications from journalists and independent media.
