The Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) launches the third edition of the Yennenga Workshops on the occasion of its 29th Edition taking place from 22 February to 01 March 2025.
The Yennenga Workshops provide a platform for the immersion of aspiring filmmakers, the emergence of film projects seeking funding and supporting films in the process of post-production.
The Yennenga Workshops are structured around three (3) programmes:
- Yennenga Academy
- Yennenga Academy is a training programme initiated by FESPACO for young talents of the African film industry with master-classes on various segments of the industry including Production, Direction, Scripting, Distribution, Critics, and so on.
- Yennenga Co-production
- Yennenga Co-Production is a programme to support the development of fiction feature film projects seeking financial partners. It aims to support African and Diaspora film co-productions in order to promote their influence internationally while fostering the emergence of talents in the industry across the African continent.
- Yennenga Post-Production
- Yennenga Post-Production is a platform for the promotion of co-production partnerships and access of African films to the international market. This programme provides film projects promoters with an opportunity to expose their films in the process of production to industry professionals and international distributors in order to support the completion of such films through concrete assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
- These calls for proposals apply to:
- Yennenga Academy
- Yennenga Academy is open to all young aspiring filmmakers from Africa and Diaspora.
- Fifteen (15) young people will be selected to participate in the 3rd edition of Yennenga Academy.
- Yennenga Co-Production
- This edition of Yennenga Co-Production is open to all filmmakers from Africa and Diaspora. Ten (10) projects will be short-listed for this edition.
- Yennenga Post-Production
- Yennenga Post-Production is open to all filmmakers from Africa and Diaspora.
- Eight (8) selected projects will be supported and presented to an audience of professionals and policy-makers from all over the world.
