The European Union is inviting applications for the Climate Pact Photo Competition to showcase climate action taking place all around you.
The European Climate Pact is a movement of people taking steps to build a more sustainable Europe. It’s a place to learn about climate change, develop and implement solutions, and connect with others for an even bigger impact.
By recognising the efforts being made to fight climate change in the neighbourhoods, they hope to:
- Raise awareness: Let’s shine a light on climate change and its impacts.
- Inspire change: Your actions matter. They want to spark more climate action across Europe. To make an even bigger impact, they want decision-makers and other people to see your actions.

Prize Information
- 10 winners (3 per category and 1 selected in a public vote) will receive:
- An invite to the Climate Pact annual event in Brussels 2025, with travel and accommodation covered.
- Their climate action photo showcased at a physical exhibition during the event.
- A digital certificate.
- Features across the Climate Pact’s digital platforms.

Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to legal residents of the EU 27 Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
- Submissions must contain one photograph and accompanying text:
- A photo should be submitted in electronic format (.png, .jpg, .jpeg), up to 10MB, minimum resolution of 2000 pixels — or 300 dpi on the long side of the photograph.
- A caption should be maximum 800 characters long. The caption should be in English. Entries in other languages will be disregarded.
Rules
- Participants must be at least 18 years-old at the time of submission.
- Entries must be submitted by legal residents of one of the 27 EU Member States.
- Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry.
- Photos must adhere to the chosen theme specified for the competition.
- Submitted photo must be original work of the participant.
- Computer-generated images/images generated with the use of AI and other heavy modifications are not acceptable.
- Participants must be ready to provide the consent forms to grant usage rights of their submitted photos to the European Commission.
