Within an ambitious initiative funded by the European Union Twinning Project ‘Increasing Road Safety in Azerbaijan”, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Centre for EU Transport Projects from Poland together with project partner, Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration proudly announces a 5-minute film contest for amateurs and professionals aimed at transforming the road safety landscape in Azerbaijan.
The aim of this film contest is to raise public awareness about road safety, social consequences caused by road accidents, and proper behaviors. They are convinced that this form of road safety promotion will reach many recipients and at the same time brings chance for many people to express their artistic skills.
What are the topics covered by the competition?
- Examples of problems that should be addressed in the films submitted to the competition:
- parking the vehicle on the road with emergency lights on,
- using mobile phones without a speaker system behind the wheel,
- indifference to pedestrians,
- improper behavior of pedestrians,
- not using seat belts,
- crossing the road not intended for pedestrians ,
- social consequences caused by traffic accidents,
- vehicles to the environment negative effect,
- the meaning of each color in the traffic light signals,
- the rules of behavior on the roads.
Prize Information
- First place prize – 2,500.00 Euro, determined by the jury.
- Prize for the second place – prize determined by the audience 1,500.00 Euro (Film will be determined by voting during the awards ceremony).
Eligibility Criteria
- The film competition will be open to the public. All professional and amateur filmmakers who are citizens and residents of the Republic of Azerbaijan over the age of 18 are eligible to participate in the competition.
- Members of the jury, employees of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, persons cooperating with the Project as RTA assistants and translators, and their close relatives do not have the right to participate in the competition.
- Conditions for participating in the Contest
- Duration of the film: maximum duration – 5 minutes; minimum duration – 1 minute.
- Documentary, artistic, animation related to traffic safety in Azerbaijan, fiction or hybrid genre films may be submitted.
- The film must be presented in Azerbaijani with English subtitles.
- The film must not be published on any platform before submission to the competition.
- Movie format – minimum quality 1080p, recommended 4k, widescreen mode recommended .mp4, .mov; the number of frames per second is thousand.
