Hamara Shauchalay Hamara Samman – Photography Contest (India)

The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti in collaboration with MyGov is organizing a Toilet Photography Contest for capturing high-resolution good quality photographs of Household toilets and/or Community toilets/ Public toilets etc under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and in celebration of World Toilet Day 2024.

The Contest will encourage participation of rural citizenry to share their pictures and creativity through capturing and uploading high-resolution good quality photographs of their sanitation facilities. 19th November is celebrated as World Toilet Day to serve as a reminder for the need of safe sanitation and the role it plays in public health, dignity, and social equality.

The Contest will act as a massive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activity to generate awareness among masses on ODF sustainability goals and to create demand for toilet usage as underlined in Phase II for ensuring ‘Sampoorna Swachhata’ in rural India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This contest is open to all citizens of India.

Application Requirements

  • Submission Requirements:
    • Citizens are invited to submit geo-tagged photographs of their toilet facilities.
    • Upload them in MyGov in JPEG/JPG/PNG format.
    • Images should be of good quality, no larger than 4 MB and must be in mentioned format.
  • No offensive language or derogatory content will be allowed. All submissions must be original and not infringe on existing copyrights or trademarks.
  • Organizers are not liable for lost, late, incomplete, or technically flawed entries. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt.
  • Organizers reserve the right to disqualify or restrict harmful or detrimental participation. Proof of identity may be required.
  • Submissions may be used by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen with due credit to the creator.
  • Complete and accurate information is required for registration. Illegible/incomplete registrations will be void.
  • One can participate in the contest by registering on the MyGov platform.
  • Only colour image will be accepted.
  • The image (maximum 4 MB in size) must be submitted online and the organiser may request for higher resolution images subsequently. The original images should be at least 2MB in size.
  • Entries with incomplete profiles will not be considered.
  • Each image submitted must be original. Photoshopped or edited pictures will not be accepted.
  • Participant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of the photographs submitted and the photographs should not have been previously published in any print and digital media.
  • Participants have to make sure that his/her MyGov profile is accurate and updated.
  • DDWS shall not be liable for any copyright-related issue arising out of pictures posted by participants on mygov.in.
  • DDWS or MyGov does not accept any liability for the publication of unlawfully reproduced images.
  • Computer-generated or computer-altered/morphed images (other than basic system work) will be disqualified. Artwork and illustrations will not be accepted.
  • By participating, the users accept these Terms and Conditions. Participants shall abide by all the terms and conditions of the competition, including any amendments or further updates.
  • All disputes/ legal complaints are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi only. Expenses incurred for this purpose will be borne by the parties themselves.
  • The terms and conditions henceforth shall be governed by Indian laws and the judgments of the Indian judicial system.
