The event brings together leading researchers and policymakers with journalists to deepen public understanding of the most relevant crime and violence issues in the United States.

For 2023, the symposium will present a series of discussions that tackle gun violence as a core public safety issue in the United States. Panels will center around how various policies, programs and historical dynamics impact gun violence, from police departments to legislators to local communities.
