IMD Comic Story Contest on Weather and Climate Services (India)

This contest aims to highlight the India Meteorological Department’s critical contributions to weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and disaster management in a visually engaging way. By translating complex concepts into relatable and creative narratives, participants can inspire a deeper appreciation for IMD’s work among diverse audiences. The contest also provides a unique platform for young talents to showcase their artistic skills while promoting the importance of meteorology in everyday life.

Eligibility Criteria

• The contest is open to Indian Nationals only.
• Employees of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and individuals involved in organizing the competition, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.

Application Requirements

• The comic strip must be no longer than 15 boxes and should contain no more than 100 words in total (including dialogue and narration).
• Participants can create their comic strips using any medium (e.g., pencil, pen, markers, or digital tools). Hand-drawn artwork must be scanned for submission, while digital comics should be clear and legible.
• Submissions must be in PDF, high-resolution JPG/PNG, or as a scanned copy of handdrawn artwork. All text must be legible.
• Each participant may submit only one entry. Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.
• All entries must be submitted on the MyGov platform. Submissions through other modes will not be accepted.
• Entries submitted after the deadline or with incomplete MyGov profiles will not be considered. The participant must be the same person as the profile owner.
• The comic strip must be original, unpublished in any media, and must not violate the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. Plagiarism or copyright infringement will result in disqualification.
• IMD is not liable for any unlawfully reproduced content or corrupted/late entries.
• Only entries adhering to the guidelines will be evaluated. Violations of the rules at any stage will lead to disqualification without notice.
• Participants must regularly check the platform for updates.
• All legal disputes or complaints will fall under the jurisdiction of Delhi courts, and related expenses will be borne by the parties involved.
• IMD reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest, update the terms, or disqualify entries deemed inappropriate, incomplete, or false.
• IMD will own the intellectual property rights of all submitted content.
• By participating, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
