Open call for 22nd DongGang International Photo Festival

They invite you to submit your work to the 22nd DongGang International Photo Festival, to be held this year from July 12th to September 29th, 2024 in Yeongwol, Gangwon State, Korea.

The works of selected artists will be exhibited in the main exhibition space, outdoor space, or screening of the Donggang International Photo Festival.

  • From nature’s point of view, humans are hell. This is because everything is objectified and evaluated according to standards set by humans, ignoring the laws of nature. Unilaterally defining something without considering the other person is also another form of disconnection and isolation, so it can be said to be hell. Nevertheless, nature is selfless. They only strive for their own survival, regardless of human attitudes. The struggle for survival sometimes appears like hell to humans. What if they were conscious of nature from its perspective and had an attitude appropriate to it? Only then will humans realize. Nature has never been hell for a single moment.
  • Humans sometimes overlook the existence of nature. By nature, humans exist in nature, but because they strongly believe that they are the main characters, they often forget their connection with nature. From the moment humans are born, nature acts as a background and an external force that affects humans. However, because the environment created in this way is so natural, there are cases where humans prioritize themselves and neglect nature.

Objectives 

• DongGang International Photo Festival aims to feature a quality selection of photography projects from around the world. DIPF’s open call is devoted to offering a platform and supporting photography, showcasing photography and related media from emerging and established artists.

Benefits

• The benefits of the contest are as follows:
  • Providing a solo exhibition for the artist of the year (1 person or group), providing an outdoor exhibition for the selected artists (15 – 20 people/including the artist of the year)
  • Providing travel expenses and accommodations for the artist of the year (1 person)

Eligibility Criteria

• The 22nd Donggang International Photo Festival is open to all domestic and foreign artists and organizations.
• Any artist or organization can apply.
• Individuals must submit 8 to 12 works from a specific series or all works.
