The Festival Ciné-Palestine Paris (FCP) is calling for short narratives, documentaries, and animated films to take part in its 10th annual short film competition in Paris.
The FCP aims to offer a quality selection of independent, innovative, and experimental Palestinian art and visual works. It is dedicated to providing a platform for and actively supporting Palestinian filmmakers worldwide. The awards consist of a monetary compensation.
Who can apply?
- The competition is open to Palestinian filmmakers worldwide.
Conditions for FCP’s Short Film Competition
- Short films that are directed by Palestinian filmmakers from all over the world.
- Submission deadline is 1st of March 2024
- No entry fees required
- Narratives, documentaries and animation films. No promotional, corporate films or video clips
- Your short film must be your first or second work
- Films produced from 2019 onwards
- Short films that do not exceed 35 min in length, including credits
- Films that are not freely available on the Internet
- Directors are required to fill in the entry form for the intended category and are encouraged to provide a secure online link/screener (Vimeo or similar) for viewing purpose.
- Video (source files) format requirements: .mov, .mpeg-4, .mxf (HD not compressed). All other formats (DVD, Blu-ray, MiniDV, Betacam, etc.) will not be accepted
- If your film is selected you must provide them with an HD copy of the film on an external hard drive. All shipping charges will be at your expense
- Shortlisted films will be announced in April 2024.
Language and Subtitles
- All films must be presented in their original language, with English or French subtitles. By “original language” they mean the language in which the film is or will be exhibited in its country of origin.
- The subtitles files (.srt format) must be provided within 15 days after the selected filmmakers confirm their participation.
