NANLITE is pleased to announce the Project Spark with the theme ‘Shining Through’.
Project Spark is a unique opportunity for a new generation of creators from around the world to express their ideas through the medium of the moving image. First held in2023 by NANLITE and NANLUX (both brands of Nanguang), this year Project Spark is returning with a call for submissions on the theme of ‘Shining Through’.
Theme: Shining Through
- The energy carried by light illuminates the world; humans are connected through the light of the screen, through images
- Images carry their dreams and preserve their thoughts and memories, even as they eventually fade away – leaving behind a record for future generations, storing their collective imagination. Images traverse great distances, communicating with others in the world who they will never meet.
- Let’s ride on the light, on their images, shining through different worlds.
Funding Information
- Each of the four finalist teams in the Global section will receive a production budget of USD15,000 and additional equipment rental support of up to USD5,000, courtesy of Nanguang.
Timeline
- February 28th, 2024 – January 18th, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
- The work should be an original project that has not been previously submitted, or derived from submissions for other events.
- Filming on any submission should not have commenced, nor should it have received any prior investment or lighting support.
- The solicited projects are narrative shorts or experimental shorts, with an expected duration of 3-20 minutes.
- There are no restrictions on age, countries or region. This contest is open to creators all over the world.
