The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung invites filmmakers based in North Africa to submit proposals for short films or documentaries that explore the diverse responses to the climate crisis in the region.
Through its “Views on Climate Crisis” project, the RLS aims to support the production of visual stories that highlight the coping solutions being developed by local communities and activists for a just collapse in an increasingly difficult context.
Objectives
- RLS seeks passionate filmmakers and journalists to submit proposals that:
- Unveil the human stories of individuals and communities affected by climate crisis.
- Explore solutions and highlight the efforts of local communities and activists in addressing the climate crisis and a just collapse.
- Provide a platform for diverse voices and perspectives on the climate crisis and a just collapse in the region.
Aims
- Through this project, RLS aims to:
- Raise awareness about the realities of the climate crisis in North Africa.
- Amplify the voices of those most affected by the climate crisis.
- Spark dialogue and engagement around a just collapse in the region.
Eligibility Criteria
- This call is open to all filmmakers and investigative journalists in North African countries. Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
Selection Criteria
- Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Concept strength: Originality, relevance, and potential impact.
- Synopsis clarity and feasibility.
- Applicant’s qualifications and experience.
