Are you passionate about the Environment and film? Then apply for the Environmental short film competition.
There will be an Awards Ceremony & Film Screening in September 2024 (date TBA) at Te Ara Atea. Top films will be awarded prizes in multiple categories.
Make a short film (under 5 minutes) about the Environment or highlighting a specific environmental issue you are passionate about.
Theme
- The film must carry an environmental message and if possible, suggest action.
Categories
- Early childhood centres/kindergartens – preschoolers and their teachers.
- Primary school – person or group from this age group and their teachers.
- High school – person or group from this age group and their teachers.
- All comers – open to any person, group or company.
Prize InformationÂ
- A panel will choose the winners. Prizes will be awarded at a public showing. The overall winner will receive the Kea Trophy.
Format
- In the best quality you can manage on: .mov, .avi, .mp4, .mwv.
ContentÂ
- Can be live-action video, animation, graphics, slides or any combination of these.
- Can be factual or fictitious, serious or humorous, real or acted.
- If you have made an environmental film for other purposes, you are entitled still to use it for this competition.
- No advertising, bad language, no indecent images, and no unauthorised use of other people’s material.
Who may enter?Â
- Entry open to all and can be individual or group entries. All entries welcome, please be aware that most entries are from children and young adults. Only one entry per individual.
