The Ministry of Environment is currently accepting applications for the Short Film Competition related to the Environment.
This competition is organized to celebrate the world Environment Day falling on 05th June 2024.
Award Information
- In addition to the cash Prizes, awards will be presented for the First, Second and Third Places. Merit award winners and all other participants will be awarded with valuablecertificate.
- 1st Place: Rs.50,000.00
- 2nd Place: Rs.40,000.00
- 3rd Place: Rs.30,000.00
- 05 Merit awards: Rs.10,000.00
- In addition to the cash Prizes, awards will be presented for the First, Second and Third Places. Merit award winners and all other participants will be awarded with valuable certificate.
Terms and Conditions
- Medium:
- Creation can be submitted in Sinhala, Tamil or English. Sinhala and Tamil creations should be submitted with English subtitles. (This condition does not apply if there is no dialogue).
- Technical specification:
- Any suitable tool for shooting can be used. (Ex: Mobile phones).
- However, the final product must be high resolution and suitable for projection on a wide screen.
- Presentation of the creations:
- One applicant can submit more than one short film.
- A copy of DVD should be provided as a separate data file for each creation.
- Creators should submit films only under their real name.
- Creations should be original and copyright infringement is a reason to reject the creations.
- Time:
- Maximum 05 minutes
- Competition sections:
- fiction, documentary and animation
Presentation of the creations
One applicant can submit more than one short film.
A copy of DVD should be provided as a separate data file for each creation. - Terms related to intellectual property:
- The creator is fully responsible for the content of the creations.
If existing music or sounds are used as copyright free or Open Educational Resources for creation, the source obtained should be mentioned at the end of the film.
- The creator is fully responsible for the content of the creations.
- Final ownership:
- The Ministry of Environment reserves the sole right of the creations,submitted to this competition.
- Other conditions:
- Creators should submit films only under their real name.
- Creations should be original and copyright infringement is a reason to reject the creations.
- The competition will be judged by a panel of judges consisting of experts in the relevant field and the decision of the jury is the final.
