Are you an EU citizen of colour or from a marginalised group living in the UK? Do you have a story to tell? Do you have a passion for photography? The Common Ground invites you to participate in “Stories of Hope – Diverse Voices” photography project to mark the Black History Month and highlight the diversity of lived experience within EU communities in the UK.
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrants must be over 18.
- Any entry must be your original work and it must not infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights. You agree to indemnify the3million against any claim from any third party for any breach of this clause.
- Full copyright title shall be retained by the author of any entry.
- Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to the Photography Competition which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media. You agree that your personal data may be used for this purpose.
- By submitting an entry, you agree to waive any moral rights contained in your entry.
- For the avoidance of doubt, by submitting your entry you warrant that all persons featured in your entry have given you their express consent for their image to be used and, in the case of vulnerable adults or persons under 18 years of age, you warrant that you have obtained express consent from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
- The winning entry will be selected by an online vote and officially announced on 11th November during Common Ground Conference.
Application Requirements
- Submit 1 photo and 1 fragment of writing.
- Your text must min 300 words long not be longer than 400 words.
- Entries should be no larger than 10MB and be at least 300dpi, and should be submitted as either JPEG or PNG.
- No more than 1 entry per person is permitted.
- Your photo must be accompanied by a text of min 300 to max 400 words, delving into the meaning behind the photo, how it reflects your personal journey as an EU citizen in the UK and your aspirations for the future.
- “Stories of Hope – Diverse Voices” provides a platform for EU citizens living in the UK to express themselves creatively and share their unique narratives. Through images and storytelling, they aim to foster understanding, empathy, and solidarity within their diverse community.
