• Competition: A competitive section highlighting new films by emerging directors.
• Non-Competition: Showcasing new films from aspiring filmmakers worldwide and locally.

Award Categories for Competition Section

• Awards for Film: The Best Film, New Hope Award, Audience Choice Award.
• Awards for Individual: The Best Director, The Best Cinematography, The Best Screenplay, The Best Actor, The Best Actress, The Best Supporting Actor, The Best Supporting Actress.

Eligibility Criteria

• Competition
  • Directed by directors with three feature films or fewer.
  • Films may be from any country of production.
  • Duration of 60 minutes or more.
  • Theatrical screening formats: DCP or, in exceptional cases, video file (.mov or .mp4).
  • English subtitles are mandatory; others are optional.
  • Must satisfy Malaysian Premiere; exempt for Malaysia Films.
  • Completed after 1 Jan 2023.
• Non-Competition
  • New films from aspiring filmmakers worldwide and locally.
  • Films may be from any country of production.
  • Duration of 60 minutes or more.

Deadline

• Competition: Films should be submitted for selection by: 24 February 2024.
• Non-Competition: Films should be submitted for selection by: 24 March 2024.
