Deadline: 31 March 2024
Applications are now open for the Wiki Loves Folklore, an international photographic competition to enjoy and celebrate the cultural diversity from around the World through Wikimedia projects.
Wiki loves Folklore in Nigeria is organized by the Wikimedia Nigeria in collaboration with other Wikimedia affiliates in Nigeria. Everybody can participate.
The basic aim of the competition is to collect photos of cultural heritage to illustrate articles in the worldwide free encyclopedia Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects. The photos provided must match the theme, although the contest is not limited to any official list of protected areas, which means that most users will be able to find several pertaining subjects close to the theme emphasizing on folk culture of that area. Last year their theme was festivals, rituals, and ceremonies to document the cultural heritage. This year they are back with folklore heritage.
