The Wildscreen is inviting young people aged 13 – 18 years old from Bath, North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire to tell their nature stories in summer 2024 through photographs and short films.
Benefits
- There are many benefits to entering the Wild West Youth Film and Photography Competition, including:
- The winner of each age category for photo and film will receive a big prize.
- The runner-up of each age category for photo and film will receive a runner-up prize.
- The opportunity to have your work seen by industry and environmental professionals – shortlisted.
- Entries will be displayed publicly at Wildscreen Festival 2024.
- The opportunity to have your work seen publicly – shortlisted films and images will be featured on.
- Wildscreen ARK, a worldwide nature education hub for young people.
Prize Information
- After shortlisted entries have been scored by the judges, the overall winners from each age category will be awarded prizes:
- The winner of the 13 – 15 yrs age category will win a 3 or 4 night family stay at Bluestone, a luxury holiday destination in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
- The winner of the 16 – 18 yrs age category will receive a Canon R100 digital camera and lens from London Camera Exchange.
- The runners-up for each age category (the best photo or film alternative) will receive £100 of vouchers from London Camera Exchange.
Eligibility Criteria
- To enter you must be 13 – 18 years old at the date of the competition submission deadline.
- Entry is only open to those living in postcodes within B&NES, South Gloucestershire and Bristol council areas.
- If you have entered through a school or community organisation, this must be within these council areas.
Conditions
- Short films can be a maximum of 1 minute long.
- Entrants can submit a maximum of 1 photo and 1 short film.
- No pets or captive animals (i.e. zoo animals) in films or photos please.
- Unethical or illegal interactions with nature will not be shortlisted.
