The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), the longest standing women’s peace organization in the world, is delighted to announce the launch of its second international photography collaboration as part of its global initiative to mobilise men for feminist peace.
Photographs selected by the jury will be exhibited online and in high visibility indoor and outdoor locations including potentially: the United Nations Headquarters in New York and Geneva, the European Union, the African Union, and in many of the countries in which the project is implemented in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
Theme
- Men and Love in Times of War and Polarisation
- In these times of wars and increasing polarisation, when men often play a pivotal role in conflict and violence, they invite submissions on the theme of men and love. They leave it to you to share your vision about who, where, how and what men can and do love.

Criteria
- They invite photographers from all over the world to join in visualizing this important discussion.
- They accept submissions from professional photographers and amateurs, they do not require any credentials.
- They accept entries from individuals over the age of 18 years of age. The photographer has to be the author(s) of the photographs submitted in their name.
- All individuals serving as contractors to WILPF cannot enter the competition.
- The winners will be selected by an esteemed panel of judges and the public announcement will be shared by the 15th of February 2024.
Competition Rules
- WILPF use: Entrants retain full copyright to their work, but grant WILPF a limited right to print and reproduce winning images in association with the contest at no additional licensing fee. The winners and runner-ups will have their photographs published on WILPF’s website and social media.
- Maximum number of entries: They don’t have a limit in this regard.
- Accepted formats J-PEG only.
- Resolution: A minimum pixel count of 3000 on the long side and a resolution of 300 DPI. Images should be compressed to be between 3-5 MB.
- Format: They will consider black & white and colour submissions.
- Time restriction: There are no limitations, however, any work that has won this collaboration beforehand, will be considered ineligible.
- Equipment used: They accept all forms of equipment.
- Photo-editing: They allow all post processing that is admissible per the terms of the World Press Photo criteria.
