Africa Foundation for young Media professionals is calling on early career, next generation of journalists, broadcasters and start up media business owners/leaders to apply for its 2024 fellowships in three different categories:
- Media entrepreneurship, niche building and business sustainability
- Campus journalism, safety, fact-checking and data driven
- Women In Journalism
This Program is designed to develop the capacity of the next generation, early career journalists, broadcasters, start-up media business owners, female journalists who had demonstrated commitment to career growth. It is also established to help target’s l growth, position them for leadership within vast media industry, especially in Nigeria This program will include a 2-day training workshop, and a 4-months mentorship session.
Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals is a media skills/career development organization based in Nigeria with projected regional and operational country offices across Africa.
Scope
- Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals is a Pan African non- profit initiative established to raise the standard of media professional practice in Africa beginning from Nigeria. It is entirely a Media Skill Development, Mentoring, Debate, Awards and discussion platform with the aim of creating budding raw materials that will equip the upcoming and middle level/established media professionals in Africa media industry.
- The organization’s activities are targeted toward Young and Early Career Media practitioners of 5 years and below, students of media, communications and Public Relations.
- The headquarters is based in Nigeria with projected offices in Nairobi Kenya, Johannesburg South Africa and New York USA.

- Media Come Alive Forum
- Media Come Alive forum is a bi-annual media development platform.The purpose is to create an avenue for discussing, crucial and global issues in different genres of media
- Sustainable Journalism
- Building capacity and promoting benefits and value in Sustainable Journalism for global development
- Media Capacity development for Media and Communications Students
- This is a capacity development platform targeted at media, Communication students in varied institutions
- Entrepreneurial Journalism
- This is targeted at start up online news media entrepreneurs
- Women in Journalism start-ups (WIJS)
- This programme is aimed at developing and encouraging young women who aspire to become mediaprenuers with relevant resources and capacity development opportunities
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- The Project on DEI, (Diversity, Equity, and inclusion) is majorly focused on increasing the visibility of marginalized voices in the media. This project runs fellowship and media capacity developments which prepare and equip next generation of media practitioners to become champion of this.
