The Visegrad Insight and Res Publica Foundation are awarding Marcin Król Fellowship to outstanding public opinion leaders from CEE, who stand up for democratic ideals.
To promote democratic values and nurture good transatlantic relations, Visegrad Insight and the Res Publica Foundation continue to focus on threats to democracy and civil society originating from within and outside of the CEE.
What they offer?
- They offer:
- A ten-month-long non-resident fellowship
- The fellowship includes a lump sum of 3,000 USD, as well as additional travel and accommodation costs for participation in Visegrad Insight conferences and workshops
- Access to the Visegrad Insight network of media and journalists, as well as in-house support
- Publication and promotion of articles to a regional and international audience
- Participation in public conferences and workshops
What they are looking for?
- Public opinion leaders from Central and Eastern Europe with a background in policy analysis, journalism, civil society or academia
- A proven track record of writing incisive analyses or thought-provoking opinion columns on regional, national or international levels for a think tank, university, or in the public and private sectors
- A desire and availability to engage with the Visegrad Insight expert network and audiences through the regular online conferences and in-person events
- A commitment to produce five or more high-quality articles which will generate public opinion impact in the national sphere, international press and social media
Policy topics
- They are looking for fellows especially specialised and interested in one or more of the following policy topics:
- Enlargement of the EU and the future of the EU neighbourhood, with a special focus on the political economy;
- Implications of tensions around Taiwan for the security and prosperity in CEE;
- Efficiency and transparency of the EU defence funding;
- The future of the Three Seas Initiative as an EU macro-region;
- Monitoring and countering malign autocratic influence in the EU
- Future EU governance reforms from the point of view of CEE.
Eligibility Criteria
- This fellowship is open to journalists and opinion leaders who want to develop their expertise as well as to policy analysts who seek to build up their voices in the public debate on the future of democratic security in Central and Eastern Europe.
