Deadline: 5 October 2023
ImagineLaw, through Gugma PR, is rolling out a Media Fellowship to equip journalists with the lens and training in pursuing stories that aim to unmask unhealthy food marketing to children and help build the case for the regulation.
The Media Fellowship is built on the lens of children’s rights and welfare and families’ rights to healthy food systems.
Funding Information
- Each Fellow will be awarded a seed fund (maximum of PhP 60,000.00) for research, data-gathering, editing, and publication. This will be released in three (3) tranches.
- Fellows will also receive a media briefing about the landscape of unhealthy food marketing to children in the country and other story ideas they can pursue.
Who can apply?
- The Fellowship is open to Filipino journalists, whether employed or as freelancers, who work in print, television, radio, online, for national, local, and/or community media organizations. They should be practicing media personnel with previously published stories or news and current affairs programs from reputable and established media institutions.
- The Fellowship is NOT exclusive to journalists who cover health, children, or nutrition beats. Freelance journalists must specify at least one media outlet or platform where they intend to publish or produce their work in order to be taken into consideration (whether TV, print, radio, or online media).
- Applicants should be based in the Greater Manila Area (National Capital Region, Rizal Province, Bulacan, Laguna, and Cavite).
- At most seven (7) Filipino journalists will be awarded the Fellowship to produce stories or reports on unhealthy food marketing to children or related stories.
