Nominations are now open for the Joseph Rago Memorial Fellowship to award two rising journalists of outstanding character and ability to complete a nine-month internship with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial team.
The Joseph Rago Memorial Fellowships for Excellence in Journalism provide a nine-month internship with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial team. These Fellowships are open annually to recent college and journalism school graduates and journalists with less than five years’ experience who are U.S. citizens.
The Applicants should have a commitment to pursuing a career in journalism and should already have some experience with writing or editing in a serious journalistic context, either in school or professionally. A demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines is critical for success.
Eligibility Criteria
- Recent college and journalism school graduates, and working journalists with less than five years of professional experience, who are U.S. citizens are welcome to apply.
Application Requirements
- To apply for the Rago Fellowship, you are required to submit:
- Cover Letter
- Resume or CV
- Three Published Journalistic Writing Samples
- Sample Editorial (500-600 words)
- Personal Essay (1,000 words)
- Letter of Reference
