Submissions open for Environmental Journalism Fellowship (Ghana)

Fellows will receive intensive theoretical and practical training through mentorship from experts on the areas of focus, distinguished journalists from Fact-Check Ghana and to be able to conduct investigations and report on issues that aim at holding duty-bearers accountable, safeguarding the environment, and amplifying human rights concerns of marginalised communities towards improving lives and promoting good governance.

Eligibility Criteria

• An Applicant should be a young journalist or freshly graduated journalist or related field between the ages of 21 to 35 years who has just completed national service or is an entry or middle-level journalist in a Ghanaian newsroom, whose schedules are flexible to allow for full participation in the fellowship in Accra, Ghana. Journalists based in Regions other than Accra are encouraged to apply.
• Applicants must be available to fully participate in the three-month fellowship; attend all in-person and virtual training sessions and carry out all assignments throughout the duration of the Fellowship.
• Fellows will also be supported to produce compelling investigative and/or fact-checking reports and expected to deliver at least one significant report each by end of the program. Fellows will receive a Certificate of Honor upon successful completion of the program.
