The BIG We Foundation (BWF) is seeking applications for the SheStories Grant to support the storytelling projects of Black, Brown, Indigenous, API/AAPI, Latine/a, and multiracial women and femme-identifying person.
BWF storytelling grants uplift women’s voices by funding creative storytelling projects in the form of a film, podcast, or other creative outlets. Through this work, they empower women of color to bring forth narratives that often go unheard to initiate reflection and dialogue, creating space for safety, love, joy, and abundance for all people.
Funding Information
- This BWF community grant making panel will select four adult grantees to each receive $30,000 and support in planning their projects for execution.
Duration
- Tentative one-year term will be from October 15, 2023 – October 15, 2024, with final storytelling projects completed by October 15, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- This grant is for individual women of color Black, Brown, Indigenous, API/AAPI, Latine/a, and multiracial women and femmes storytellers working on a specific storytelling project to apply for project support.
- Applicants must be located in the United States, including Puerto Rico.

- Proposals should cultivate deep personal exploration that compels women to express love for themselves, their work, and their lives while being candid about the challenges, pitfalls and hardships they face personally, in their communities, and in the world.

- Unheard Stories
- They want to hear the stories of women that often go unheard. Grantee proposals should offer unique perspectives/ stories that shed light on issues seldom shown/ acknowledged in mainstream media and inspires the audience to continue conversations in their communities.

- All projects will have a clear, compelling, and empowering call to action centered around uniting our communities to generate a well culture and well communities where they can all experience sustained safety, love, joy, and abundance for all people.
