Topics
- This year’s Grant topic is:
- Climate Change, Sustainability and Disinformation: The global climate crisis has fueled the worldwide debate on suitable measures and steps to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Pacific island states such as Tuvalu are particularly affected by climate change and are working with their international partners in multilateral forums to promote climate solidarity and climate justice. Countries such as Germany and Australia have joined forces in the Climate Club in promoting climate action and energy transition. But political opposition is growing just as quickly as international cooperation, accompanied by a drastic increase in disinformation in social media networks. In this context, the question arises: How can countries in the Indo-Pacific region, Australia and Germany promote sustainable climate action and effectively counter disinformation narratives that take hold in the region.
