The Netherlands Film Fund (NFF) inviting Dutch film distributors to apply for a project subsidy for the cinema release of a high-quality foreign children’s and youth film in the Netherlands, which has been selected at an international film festival.
Funding Information
- Up to €25,000 to support the P&A budget for the release of the film;
- An additional contribution of up to €15,000 can be requested for dubbing.
Eligibility Criteria
- A film distributor from the Kingdom of the Netherlands who has continuously released films in Dutch cinemas and movie theaters for at least two years prior to the application.
- A film distributor may be eligible for a financial contribution if:
- the foreign children’s or youth film is a distinct, artistic, qualitative and distinctive international film production, with added value for film culture in the Netherlands;
- the film has been selected at least one leading international film festival included in the list International Film Festivals – International Festival Selection & Foreign Arthouse Film and Documentaries, no longer than 1 year before the submission deadline;
- the film is not sub-distributed;
- the marketing and distribution plan with associated marketing & distribution budget and underlying guarantees regarding the cinema release and non-theatrical release are of such quality that, in the opinion of the board, there is a feasible, well-considered and realistic audience approach on the basis of which the film production will have an optimal national reach.
- the film has a running time of at least 60 minutes (an exception can be made to the running time for toddler and preschool films).
- Children’s and youth films for which a distribution contribution has already been received under another Fund scheme are not eligible for a contribution under this scheme.
