The Netherlands Film Fund has launched the Cinema Release of Foreign Arthouse Film or Documentary Film Fund.
Funding Information
- Maximum €25,000 per project subsidy.
- The subsidy ceiling for the cinema release of foreign arthouse films and documentaries in the Netherlands is €150,000 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- A film distributor from the Kingdom of the Netherlands that has continuously released films in Dutch cinemas and film theaters for at least two years prior to the application can apply.
- A film distributor may be eligible for this project subsidy if:
- the foreign arthouse film or documentary is a distinctive, artistic, high-quality and distinctive international film production, with added value for film culture in the Netherlands;
- the film or documentary for which the application has been submitted has been selected for a leading international film festival, as included in the list International Film Festivals – International Festival Selection & Foreign arthouse film and documentaries no later than 1 year prior to the submission deadline.
- the film is not released in sub-distribution;
- the release date of the foreign arthouse film is scheduled no earlier than 8 weeks after the submission deadline.
