Applications are now open for the Creative Freelancers to nurture the expansion of creativity and culture in the region, solidifying its position as a worldwide centre for creative and cultural innovation.
The Creative Freelancer Grants sit within Culture West, a £3.1 million programme. The ambitious two-year programme will open up the creative sector to more diverse talent, ensure more communities take part and create art experiences, and build a resilient sector that will drive economic growth in the West of England.
The resilience of creative freelancers will be improved by funding individuals to deliver specific projects that will enable them to develop their product, service or creative practice.
What support is available?
- Creative Freelancers can apply for grants of up to £2,000. The kind of activity they expect this grant to cover could be, but is not limited to:
- Research and development of creative ideas
- Professional development (activities that build, maintain or enhance your knowledge and skills)
- Creation of new work
- Collaboration with new partners
- Training and showcasing opportunities with tangible outcomes.
- Delivering events, festivals, community engagement activities
- Building and growing partnerships that will aid or develop your work.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Whilst they welcome applications from freelancers from all sub-sectors of the Creative Industry. The grant programme is particularly targeted to provide support to the following groups: care leavers, creatives living in areas of socio-economic deprivation, disabled people, global majority, young people (18-30).
- You will be eligible to apply for this grant if:
- You’re a registered sole trader with a Unique Tax Reference, or a Director of a limited company where you are the only officer or employee.
- You work in one or more of these sectors: Advertising & Marketing, Architecture, Arts & Culture, Visual Arts, Dance, Performing Arts, Festival, Craft, Createch, Design, Fashion, Gaming, Music, Publishing, TV & Film.
