The Netherlands Film Fund is thrilled to announce the film festival to stimulate the distribution, knowledge development, profiling and promotion of professional film in the Netherlands.
The film festival also takes place in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and requires cooperation with private and public (local) partners who largely contribute to the costs of the film festival.
You can apply for a project subsidy for organizing one film festival edition or a project subsidy for two years for organizing two editions of the same annual film festival.
Funding Information
- Maximum €65,000 as a project subsidy for organizing a film festival;
- That takes place annually on at least six consecutive days;
- With a festival budget of a minimum of €300,000 and a maximum of €500,000;
- With an audience reach of at least 15,000 paying visitors and with audience income of at least €50,000; and
- a proven track record with four previous festival editions.
- Maximum €40,000 as a project subsidy for organizing a film festival;
- That takes place annually or biannually on at least four consecutive days;
- With a festival budget of at least € 150,000;
- With an audience reach of at least 5,000 paying visitors and with audience income of at least € 20,000; and
- a proven track record with three previous festival editions.
- Maximum €20,000 as a project subsidy for organizing a film festival;
- That takes place annually or occasionally on at least two consecutive days;
- With a festival budget of at least €75,000;
- With an audience reach of at least 1,250 paying visitors and with audience income of at least €5,000
- A proven track record with at least two previous festival editions.
Who is eligible?
- A legal entity specialized in film (i.e. not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) from the Kingdom of the Netherlands that is responsible for the organization of film festivals is eligible for a project subsidy for a festival edition.
- This legal entity must have organized at least two editions of the festival for which the application is submitted in the four years prior to the application.
- A legal entity specialized in the field of film (i.e. not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) that has received film festival project subsidies from the Film Fund for four or more consecutive years immediately prior to the application for film festival project subsidies and has successfully completed these previous film festival editions – and in line with the obligations imposed – is eligible for a project subsidy for two years.
- The film festival will take place no later than 7 months after submitting the application for a project subsidy.
